Webinar Title:

An example of a randomized controlled trial:  Clinical and Cost-effectiveness of a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and Management for Canadian Elders with Cancer: the 5C Study

Webinar Description:

In this webinar, Martine will review an example of a multicentre randomized controlled study in which older adults with cancer referred for chemotherapy are invited to participate. The intervention consists of a comprehensive geriatric assessment followed up by an integrated care plan.

Key questions this webinar will answer:

  • How might one design a randomized controlled trial for older adults?
  • What challenges may arise when implementing a randomized controlled trial in multiple centres across the country?
  • What does a comprehensive geriatric assessment for older adults entail?
